They are advanced power MOSFETs designed, tested, and guaranteed to withstand a specified level of energy in the breakdown avalanche mode of operation. All of these power MOSFETs are designed for applications such as switching regulators, switching converters, motor drivers, relay drivers and as drivers for other high-power switching devices. The high input impedance allows these types to be operated directly fromĀ integrated circuits. Formerly developmental type TA17522.

IRF9640 MOSFET Explained
IRF9640 is a P channel MOSFET manufactured in TO-220 and other packages. The continuous drain current of the transistor is -11A therefore you it can drive maximum load of -11A through the transistor with the maximum load voltage of -200V. The transistor can be used for wide variety of switching and amplification purposes. It is also capable to deliver fast switching speed hence can be used in applications where fast switching is crucial. The drain to source resistance of the transistor is 0.500. The minimum the source resistance the lesser power is waste which makes the transistor power efficient. Moreover the transistor has low driving requirements which make it capable to be derived directly from ICs, microcontrollers and electronic platforms such as Arduino.

How to Safely Long Run in a Circuit
For long term performance with this device use it 20% below from its maximum ratings. The maximum continues drain current -11A therefore do drive load of more than -8.8A. The maximum drain to source voltage is -200V therefore do not drive load of more than -160V, use a suitable heatsink with this transistor and always store or operate the transistor in temperature above -55 degree Celsius and below +150 degree Celsius.
